One of my favorites from the World Harvest Festival, Black Bean Stew! Here is the recipe. 🙂 Brazilian Black Bean Stew1# black beans soaked overnight or 2 (15oz) canned black beans1 tablespoon olive oil1/3 pound bacon, diced2 Mexican chorizo sausages (roughly 11 oz each), sliced**1 smoked sausage (roughly 7 oz), such as linguica or kielbasa, sliced1 large onion, chopped5 tsp garlic, minced3 tomatoes, diced (or 4 oz canned diced tomato)Salt and Pepper to taste2 bay leaves3.5 cups Chicken Broth (additional water if needed)White rice for servingInstructionWhen you are ready to make your stew, in a large heavy-bottom soup pot, over medium heat, add the oil and bacon. Cook until crisp and transfer to a plate.Use the same saucepan sausages in batches. (You will want to be sure to cook the sliced Mexican chorizo on its own, as it can be very greasy. Drain the grease before continuing.) Set each aside as cooked. If needed, add more oil to the pan. On medium-high, sauté onion, and garlic until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook for another 3 minutes.Drain and rinse the soaked beans. Add them to the pot along with the bacon, sausages, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Cover with chicken broth. (if using canned beans, drain beans and use ½ amount of chicken broth)Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it cook for 2 to 2 and a half hours, or until the beans are soft. (if using canned beans reduce cooking time by 1 hour)If the stew is too liquidy, uncover the saucepan and continue to cook for another 20 minutes to allow some of the liquid to evaporate.Serve with white rice, if desired

All right church, time to celebrate again because MacKenzie is getting baptized! Please join us at the John E. Painter Park on September 24 at 2pm. Baptism is not just someone getting dunked under water, this is a public proclamation of faith and new life in Christ! What an opportunity this is to show our love and support for her in this decision and encourage her as she continues her walk with the Lord! Once again, God is good!

Our Ministries

At LIFE Christian Fellowship, the Life Group is the backbone of our ministry. In the Bible, we read about the believers meeting together “in the temple courts and house to house” Acts 2:46. The Life Group is the house to house ministry. Everyone in our church is encouraged to be a part of a Life Group. As part of a Life Group, you have the opportunity for fellowship and to share any personal, emotional, or spiritual needs. So, we invite you to come and visit our Life Groups!
